Haven Road

Haven Apartments is a six-storey residential development located at 71 Haven Road, Nelson, in New Zealand’s fast-growing Tasman region. Developed by Vining Investment Properties and designed collaboratively by RM Design and Aaron Walton Architects, the project delivers 31 one, two, and three bedroom units that combine style with affordability. Its elevated position provides sweeping views over Nelson City, the harbour, and Tasman Bays. The architectural approach emphasizes natural materials, including exposed cross laminated timber, stone-look tiles, and water-inspired accents, creating a strong connection to the surrounding environment. 

The development required a high-performance external wall solution that could deliver thermal efficiency, durability, and comfort for residents while complementing the building’s modern aesthetic. The exterior envelope needed to perform reliably in Nelson’s coastal climate and support the project’s energy efficiency and sustainability goals. 

To meet these requirements, Rockwool Thermalrock S80 (50mm) was installed on the exterior of the framing, providing a continuous insulation layer. This solution enhanced thermal performance, reduced heat loss through the structure, and contributed to a comfortable internal environment. Its use aligned with the project’s commitment to sustainability, longevity, and high-quality design, supporting the Haven Apartments’ position as a premium small city living option.
